Description
Our client, a global leader in financial services, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant (Consultant) to join their team. This is a compelling consulting opportunity to support private equity sponsors in managing the financial accounting and reporting requirements of their management companies. You will work with a highly experienced team supporting multiple clients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Responsibilities:
- Process and record cash transactions, including monthly bank reconciliations.
- Perform fixed asset and prepaid expense accounting activities.
- Manage payroll accounting, including reconciliations with payroll provider records.
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to review invoices and journal entries.
- Support the monthly accounting close process, including preparation of journal entries for expense accruals, equity-related transactions, and other activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting workpapers.
- Contribute to the annual Form 1099 process.
- Support the onboarding of new clients, ensuring accurate financial setup.
- Execute ad-hoc and special projects as requested by management.
- Act as a liaison between clients and their third-party auditors and tax accountants.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally within public accounting or financial services.
- Strong working knowledge of private equity management fees and related accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs).
- Experience with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of core accounting principles and GAAP.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to offer recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; client-facing experience preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
