Description

You will play a key role in overseeing fund accounting and operational activities across the investment platform. Beyond traditional fund accounting responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to drive process improvements, enhance operational controls, and support system, automation, and workflow optimization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will combine strong fund accounting expertise with technical and coding capabilities, enabling them to identify operational inefficiencies, automate processes, and enhance the overall finance infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee the fund accounting and NAV production process performed by external fund administrators.
2. Review and validate NAV calculations, investor allocations, fund expenses, accruals, and reconciliations.
3. Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
4. Review financial statements and other reporting deliverables prepared by external service providers.
5. Liaise with fund administrators, auditors, custodians, banks, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth fund operations.
6. Monitor cash positions, investment transactions, capital calls, distributions, and portfolio valuations.
7. Support system implementations, upgrades, process automation, and digital transformation initiatives to enhance fund accounting and operational processes.
8. Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting quality.
9. Develop and leverage VBA-based solutions and other automation tools to streamline reporting, reconciliation, and operational workflows.
10. Participate in business transformation, operational enhancement, and compliance-related projects.
11. Support regulatory filings, audits, governance requirements, and other finance-related initiatives.
12. Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports for senior management and investment teams.

Qualifications

1. 4+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, asset management, consulting, advisory, or family office environments.
2. Strong knowledge of fund accounting, investment accounting, and fund operations.
3. Experience in process improvement, system implementation, workflow optimization, finance transformation, or automation initiatives is highly preferred.
4. Proficiency in VBA is highly desirable. Exposure to Cisco platforms/systems and other technology tools would be an advantage.
5. Programming, coding, data analytics, or automation experience is strongly preferred.
6. Candidates from consulting firms with exposure to asset management, investment management, or financial services clients are highly preferred.
7. Candidates from family offices with experience in investment accounting, portfolio reporting, and fund operations will also be considered.
8. CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualifications are preferred.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and develop practical technology-enabled solutions.
10. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in English and Cantonese.
