Our client is looking for a CPA/CA qualified Financial Accountant. The Opportunity
A highly regarded global organisation is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team in a broad, hands on role. This position offers excellent exposure to international reporting, internal audit frameworks and governance processes within a well established and supportive environment.
Based on the Northern Beaches, this hybrid role requires two days per week in the office and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior finance leaders and international stakeholders.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a varied position suited to someone who enjoys ownership, structure and problem solving within a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Month End

- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and profit and loss schedules in line with AASB requirements
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve discrepancies
- Support management reporting and reporting packs for local and offshore stakeholders
- Maintain fixed asset registers and contribute to year end reporting

Tax and Compliance

- Prepare BAS and FBT returns
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and deadlines
- Assist with tax related reconciliations and reporting obligations

Governance, Compliance and Audit

- Support internal audit, and audit requirements
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Assist in strengthening internal controls and risk mitigation processes
- Contribute to process documentation and standard operating procedures

General Ledger and Systems

- Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers within an ERP system
- Perform AR, AP, intercompany and control account reconciliations
- Use Excel and reporting tools to analyse and reconcile financial data
- Support system improvements and reporting enhancements

About You

- CA, CPA or ACCA qualified or nearing completion
- Strong experience in month end, reconciliations and reporting
- Experience preparing BAS and FBT returns
- Exposure to audit, internal controls and accounting standards
- Advanced Excel skills including pivots, lookups and data analysis
- Full Australian working rights
