Description
BackgroundWe are seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance and regulatory functions at a Hong Kong-headquartered multi-family office. The position will perform and oversee financial control, regulatory reporting, and operational oversight, ensuring the firm maintains its strong compliance record and delivers transparent, high-quality financial management to support growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management : Lead internal financial accounting, regulatory reporting, and finance operations, ensuring accurate books, timely reporting, and clear visibility of profitability and fee structures.
- Regulatory Reporting : Responsible for FRR filings and liquidity capital monitoring. Maintain the firm's clean audit record and act as the primary liaison with auditors and regulators.
- NAV & Fee Oversight : Oversee NAV and fee calculations for separately managed accounts, performed jointly with fund administrators. Provide independent validation and challenge to ensure accuracy.
- Custodian & Administrator Coordination : Manage financial flows and reconciliations across custodian banks and administrators, ensuring transparency in execution costs and fee rebates.
- Systems & Infrastructure Oversee the accounting and portfolio management systems currently in use, driving improvements in automation, reporting, and integration with custodians.
- Board & Leadership Reporting: Deliver timely management accounts, capital adequacy updates, and financial dashboards to senior leadership. Act as a trusted advisor on financial risks and opportunities.
Key Requirements
- Degree holder in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
- Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CFA preferred)
- 10+ years' experience in Finance roles within multi-family office or external asset managers environment
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong SFC regulations, FRR, and liquidity capital monitoring
- Hands-on experience with NAV calculations, fund administration, and custodian oversight
- Proven ability to lead small finance/ops teams in lean environments
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance compliance and growth
- Excellent communication skills for internal stakeholders including C-Suites
