A mission-driven public health plan serving New Yorkers is looking for a Deputy Controller to own statutory accounting and financial reporting at a level that genuinely shapes the organization. This is the role for a technical accounting leader who wants their work to matter, guiding audits, sharpening reporting, and helping deliver care to the communities that need it most.

About the opportunity:

• Lead statutory and GAAP/GASB financial reporting, including twice-yearly audits
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting workflows and documentation
• Provide technical accounting oversight and guidance to the accounting team
• Partner across Finance to keep reporting accurate for regulators, auditors, and leadership

Requirements

Requirements:

• 10+ years in the health insurance industry
• Deep experience with insurance statutory reporting and financial reporting
• Strong technical accounting skills, including researching complex issues and writing technical memos
• Track record preparing financial statements, regulatory filings, and audited reports
• CPA preferred, not required
