PFS TECO, an NFPA Global Solutions Company, is seeking experienced Quality Auditors to join our growing Manufactured Structures team. This position is ideal for experienced building code professionals who enjoy traveling, working independently, and ensuring manufacturers produce code-compliant, high-quality buildings.
As a Quality Auditor, you will conduct quality assurance audits at manufacturing facilities throughout the United States, evaluating construction practices, quality management systems, and compliance with applicable building codes, certification procedures, approved plans, and regulatory requirements. Rather than performing municipal inspections, you will serve as an independent third-party auditor helping manufacturers maintain the highest standards of quality and code compliance.
This is a highly autonomous position that offers the opportunity to work with leading manufacturers while applying your technical expertise across multiple disciplines.
What You'll Do
Conduct comprehensive quality assurance and compliance audits at manufacturing facilities.
Evaluate manufacturer quality control programs and ensure compliance with approved quality manuals, plans, specifications, and certification procedures.
Verify compliance with applicable International Codes and regulatory requirements.
Review documentation, production records, and inspection processes for accuracy and completeness.
Identify construction defects, process deficiencies, and non-conformances while recommending corrective actions.
Prepare detailed inspection and audit reports.
Review findings with manufacturer management and monitor corrective actions.
Inspect test equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.
Travel throughout the United States to manufacturing facilities (approximately 75%).

Requirements
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction, building inspection, code enforcement, quality assurance, or manufacturing inspections
Current ICC Certifications required: ICC Commercial Building Inspector (B2); ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector (E2); ICC Commercial Plumbing Inspector (P2); ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector (M2); ICC Commercial Energy Inspector (Commercial IECC)
Strong knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and related ICC codes
Experience performing inspections, audits, or quality assurance reviews
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and code requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Valid driver's license and ability to travel approximately 75% throughout the United States, including overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with modular, off-site, manufactured, or industrialized construction
Experience auditing quality management systems
Additional ICC certifications or state inspection certifications
Knowledge of HUD, modular, or manufactured housing regulations
Experience working with third-party inspection or certification agencies
