Seeking an underwriter for our PO finance and recourse factoring divisions where we provide flexible financing solutions to small and mid-sized businesses. Our facilities close working capital gaps quickly and efficiently through our diligence process and relationship-focused service.
This position plays a key role in supporting credit decisions within a fast-paced lending environment. Focuses on evaluating transactions, assessing transaction-level risk, and analyzing borrower and buyer creditworthiness. Unlike traditional bank underwriting, this role requires comfort with dynamic risk profiles, shorter decision timelines, and structured deals tailored to growth-stage businesses.

Key responsibilities:
Review and analyze applications and supporting documentation.
Verify purchase orders, supplier contracts, and buyer creditworthiness
Conduct financial analysis including review of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Perform risk assessments and identify potential credit, operational, and fraud risks
Assist in preparing underwriting reports and credit memos
Support senior underwriters in structuring finance deals within company risk policies
Communicate with clients, brokers, and referral sources to obtain required information
Maintain accurate underwriting files and documentation, and update Salesforce
Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Portfolio teams to facilitate fast funding decisions
Assists with legal documentation, due diligence, and client onboarding
Monitor approved deals for performance and flag early warning signs
Participate in industry events, conferences, and client-facing activities as needed (light travel required)
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field
5–10 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, trade finance, or banking
Strong understanding of financial statements and credit risk assessment
Strong analytical and numerical skills
High attention to detail, organizational ability and prioritizing
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience:
Experience in asset-based lending, factoring, PO finance, or working capital finance
Familiarity with transaction-based underwriting
Understanding of supply chain finance structures
