Senior Accountant

Location: Decatur, Illinois

Salary: $80,000-100,000

Client/Job Summary:

Our client is an established, global manufacturer seeking a Senior Accountant to support its accounting, commodities, and finance teams. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with commercial leaders while owning high-visibility accounting, controls, and investment analysis. It's a great fit for someone who wants hands-on ownership while gaining exposure to commodities and ability to work cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own month-end, quarter, and year-end close and general ledger activities for commodities products.
• Support financial reporting, audits, and licensing requirements.
• Partner with FP&A on forecasts, plans, and estimates.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls across inventory, cash, and trade cycles.
• Support CAPEX analysis and investment decisions.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis to commercial and senior leadership.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, or similar.
• 2-5+ years of accounting, reporting, or financial analysis. Commodities exposure highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting controls.
• Hands-on experience with EPM/ERP tools (ex. SAP, Workday, Adaptive, etc.)
• Able to collaborate cross-functionally and work alongside senior leaders.
