Description
Justice Democrats is seeking seasoned finance staff to be finance directors for races across the country! If you are interested in fundraising for progressive congressional primary campaigns, please apply, and a member of our team will be in touch if your skills and experience match one of our races.
Position Responsibilities
Finance Directors will be responsible for designing and executing the campaign’s fundraising program and partnering with a skilled team of staff, advisors, consultants, and volunteers to win the election.
- Design and oversee the execution of the fundraising plan for the campaign in collaboration with the campaign staff and key partners.
- Ensure that fundraising efforts are as efficient and effective as possible.
- Staff the candidate during call time.
- Track progress of the call time program and produce regular reports for the candidate, senior staff and key partners.
- Organize and staff donor meetings with the candidate.
- Plan and successfully execute fundraising events.
- Develop a plan to cultivate and grow grassroots giving to the campaign.
- Research potential donors.
- Create and maintain systems for prospecting, donor tracking, and reporting to donors.
- Leverage press hits or current events into fundraising across tools: events, call time, social media, etc.
- Work with candidate, staff, and key partners to set fundraising goals, update projections, train in fundraising skills, and track/report on success, and build strong finance operations that support their campaign budget.
Requirements
Ideal Experience, Skills, and Characteristics:
- Demonstrated commitment to progressive values and policy priorities
- Experience with community or electoral organizing and movement building
- Understanding of Excel/Google Sheets with the capability to effectively organize fundraising data.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, especially conflict resolution, listening, and ability to communicate professionally and empathetically
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Comfort and ability to seek support and resources from others, including receiving and incorporating feedback
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Critical and creative thinking skills
- Self-starter with great time management and problem-solving skills
- Resourceful organizer who can build new systems and strategies from the ground up
- At least one cycle of campaign experience with knowledge of NGP VAN and campaign finance
- Willingness to work irregular hours and weekends
