Description
We’re hiring a Controller at First Tactical, a fast growing first responder tactical wear company based in California. In this role, you’ll lead our accounting and financial operations, support strategic decision making, and help scale a mission driven business serving law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other first responders.

Requirements
Financial Reporting & Close
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain the chart of accounts
Prepare month-end journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
Maintain primary responsibility for the general ledger
Accounting Operations
Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Oversee cash receipts, disbursements, and reconciliations
Manage cash flow and banking activities
Inventory & Cost Accounting
Research inventory cost variances to standard on a monthly basis
Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation for distribution operations
Budgeting, Forecasting & Commissions
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis
Oversee sales commission calculations, reporting, and payouts
Compliance, Reporting & Leadership
Prepare required regulatory filings and internal reports
Support audits and tax compliance with external partners
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
Perform other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
ERP System Experience
Experience in inventory-based or distribution environments
