Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Controller located in Warwick, RI. The Financial Controller reports to the President/CEO and works closely with other department heads to maintain a well-organized general ledger and financial statements while adhering to US GAAP compliance. This position will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing financial operations. The individual will also work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies and plans to support the company's overall objectives.
Results oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers, subcontractors/vendors, Executive Board, and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Objectives
Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
Guide financial decisions by applying Company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
Assist in developing and supporting short- and long-term operational strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
10 or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
Strong skills in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
Excellent Analytical Skills and Finance knowledge
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills with a strong emphasis on self-motivation and an independent thinker
Strong communication and leadership abilities with a positive attitude
Thorough knowledge of financial planning and budgeting, banking processes, contracting, billing, collections, benefits/health renewal process, insurances, 401k administration, audits
Proven track record of managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulations
Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel (including VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc.)
