Description
Controller for Non-Profit pediatric primary care clinic in Arvada, CO. This position will report to and work closely with the Executive Director. The Carin' Clinic is a safety-net clinic that was started by two Jefferson County school nurses in 1996. The clinic accepts Medicaid and CHP+ and receives grants and donations.
- Financial operations: Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, billing, general ledger, and payroll.
- Financial reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for leadership, the board, and external stakeholders.
- Budgeting and forecasting: Assist in developing and monitoring the annual budget, and track financial performance against the budget.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), relevant federal and state regulations, and nonprofit-specific standards.
- Audits and taxes: Support various audits by grantors and assist with tax filings and other regulatory reporting.
- Internal controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and fiscal policies to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Grant management: Monitor grant revenue and expenses to ensure accuracy and accountability to funding sources.
- Process improvement: Collaborate with other departments to improve financial management practices.
- Maintain donor databases and prepare donation acknowledgements.
- Be part of the team that interacts with outside stakeholders and community leaders.
Requirements
This is a part-time onsite position. The successful candidate will have an accounting degree, CPA preferred and at least three years of experience. Non-profit experience is a plus.
