Description

The South African electricity market is reforming with trading between generators and industrial users now being permitted. Our client is on a a few entities with a trading licence to sell power to industrial users. We are therefore looking to speak to candidates who:

• Have experience managing finances from an electricity trader at a senior level (preferably from the UK or US market)
• Have the right to work in South Africa.

As the role is focused on positioning the client in the best possible standing to take the lions share of the trading market, the successful incumbent will bring to bear experience in

• Implementing and managing private Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
• Billing and revenue collection, including implementing systems to track transmission network use, balancing services, and distribution use (wheeling fees and capacity charges - TNUoS, BSUoS and DUoS)
• Treasury management and cash flow forecasting
• Hedging
• Strong IFRS and reporting

We are ideally looking to speak to South Africa expatriates with direct experience in this market. We will not be able to accommodate any candidates who do not have direct electricity trading experience.
